Exodus 21:6

English Standard Version

6 then his master shall bring him to God, and he shall bring him to the door or the doorpost. And his master shall bore his ear through with an awl, and he shall be his slave forever. (Ps 82:6; Joh 10:34) 

New International Version

6 then his master must take him before the judges.[1] He shall take him to the door or the door-post and pierce his ear with an awl. Then he will be his servant for life. 

New International Reader’s Version

6 Then his master must take him to the judges. His master must take him to the door or doorpost of his master’s house. His master must poke a hole through his servant’s earlobe into the door or doorpost. Then he will become his servant for life. 

King James Version

6 Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.
