11 Therefore they set taskmasters over them to afflict them with heavy burdens. They built for Pharaoh store cities, Pithom and Raamses. (Ge 15:13; Ge 47:11; Ex 2:11; Ex 3:7; Ex 5:4; Ex 6:6; Ex 12:37; De 26:6; 2Ch 16:4; Ps 81:6) 

New International Version

11 So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labour, and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh. 

New International Reader’s Version

11 So the Egyptians put slave drivers over the people of Israel. The slave drivers treated them badly and made them work hard. The Israelites built the cities of Pithom and Rameses so Pharaoh could store things there. 

King James Version

11 Therefore they did set over them taskmasters to afflict them with their burdens. And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses.
