Esther 3:6

English Standard Version

6 But he disdained[1] to lay hands on Mordecai alone. So, as they had made known to him the people of Mordecai, Haman sought to destroy[2] all the Jews, the people of Mordecai, throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus.

New International Version

6 Yet having learned who Mordecai’s people were, he scorned the idea of killing only Mordecai. Instead Haman looked for a way to destroy all Mordecai’s people, the Jews, throughout the whole kingdom of Xerxes.

New International Reader’s Version

6 But he had found out who Mordecai’s people were. So he didn’t want to kill only Mordecai. He also looked for a way to destroy all Mordecai’s people. They were Jews. He wanted to kill all of them everywhere in the kingdom of Xerxes.

King James Version

6 And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had shewed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.
