12 remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. (Eze 14:5; Ro 9:4; 1Co 12:2; Ga 2:15; Ga 4:8; Eph 1:18; Eph 4:18; Eph 5:8; Col 1:21; Col 3:7; 1Th 4:13)

12 remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, excluded from citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 

New International Reader’s Version

12 Before you believed in Christ, you were separated from him. You were not considered to be citizens of Israel. You were not included in what the covenants promised. You were without hope and without God in the world.
