Ecclesiastes 7:2

English Standard Version

2 It is better to go to the house of mourning than to go to the house of feasting, for this is the end of all mankind, and the living will lay it to heart. (Ps 90:12) 

New International Version

2 It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of everyone; the living should take this to heart. 

New International Reader’s Version

2 So it’s better to go where people are mourning than to go where people are having a good time. Everyone will die someday. Those who are still living should really think about that. 

King James Version

2 It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart.
