Deuteronomy 31:17

17 Then my anger will be kindled against them in that day, and I will forsake them and hide my face from them, and they will be devoured. And many evils and troubles will come upon them, so that they will say in that day, ‘Have not these evils come upon us because our God is not among us?’ (Nu 14:42; De 32:20; Jud 6:13; 2Ch 12:5; 2Ch 15:2; 2Ch 24:20; Ps 30:7; Ps 104:29; Isa 8:17; Isa 59:2; Isa 64:7)

New International Version

17 And in that day I will become angry with them and forsake them; I will hide my face from them, and they will be destroyed. Many disasters and calamities will come on them, and in that day they will ask, “Have not these disasters come on us because our God is not with us?”

New International Reader’s Version

17 In that day I will become angry with them. I will desert them. I will turn my face away from them. And they will be destroyed. Many horrible troubles and hard times will come on them. On that day they will say, “Trouble has come on us. Our God isn’t with us!”
