Deuteronomy 29:23

English Standard Version

23 the whole land burned out with brimstone and salt, nothing sown and nothing growing, where no plant can sprout, an overthrow like that of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in his anger and wrath— (Ge 14:2; Ge 19:24; Jud 9:45; Jer 17:6; Jer 20:16; Jer 49:18; Jer 50:40; Eze 47:11; Ho 11:8; Zep 2:9; 2Pe 2:6) 

New International Version

23 The whole land will be a burning waste of salt and sulphur – nothing planted, nothing sprouting, no vegetation growing on it. It will be like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboyim, which the Lord overthrew in fierce anger. 

New International Reader’s Version

23 The whole land will be burned. Nothing but salt and sulphur will be left. Nothing will be planted there. Nothing will grow there. In fact, nothing will even start to grow there. The land will be like Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboyim after they were destroyed. The LORD wiped out those cities because he was very angry.

23 And that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
