Deuteronomy 25:6

English Standard Version

6 And the first son whom she bears shall succeed to the name of his dead brother, that his name may not be blotted out of Israel. (Ru 4:10) 

New International Version

6 The first son she bears shall carry on the name of the dead brother so that his name will not be blotted out from Israel. 

New International Reader’s Version

6 Her first baby boy will be named after her first husband. Then the dead man’s name will continue in Israel. 

King James Version

6 And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel.
