Deuteronomy 24:16

English Standard Version

16 “Fathers shall not be put to death because of their children, nor shall children be put to death because of their fathers. Each one shall be put to death for his own sin. (2Ki 14:6; 2Ch 25:4; Jer 31:29; Eze 18:20) 

New International Version

16 Parents are not to be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their parents; each will die for their own sin. 

New International Reader’s Version

16 Parents must not be put to death because of what their children do. And children must not be put to death because of what their parents do. People must die because of their own sins. 

King James Version

16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
