Deuteronomy 20:8

English Standard Version

8 And the officers shall speak further to the people, and say, ‘Is there any man who is fearful and fainthearted? Let him go back to his house, lest he make the heart of his fellows melt like his own.’ (Jud 7:3) 

New International Version

8 Then the officers shall add, ‘Is anyone afraid or faint-hearted? Let him go home so that his fellow soldiers will not become disheartened too.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

8 The officers will continue, ‘Is anyone afraid or scared? Let him go home. Then the other soldiers won’t lose hope too.’ 

King James Version

8 And the officers shall speak further unto the people, and they shall say, What man is there that is fearful and fainthearted? let him go and return unto his house, lest his brethren' heart faint as well as his heart.
