16 But in the cities of these peoples that the Lord your God is giving you for an inheritance, you shall save alive nothing that breathes, (Nu 33:52; De 7:1; Jos 11:14) 

New International Version

16 However, in the cities of the nations the Lord your God is giving you as an inheritance, do not leave alive anything that breathes.

16 But what about the cities the LORD your God is giving you as your own? Kill everything that breathes in those cities.
