21 “You shall not plant any tree as an Asherah beside the altar of the Lord your God that you shall make. (Ex 34:13; Jud 6:25; 1Ki 14:15; 1Ki 16:33; 2Ki 13:6; 2Ki 17:16; 2Ch 33:3) 

New International Version

21 Do not set up any wooden Asherah pole beside the altar you build to the Lord your God, 

New International Reader’s Version

21 Don’t set up a wooden pole used to worship the female god named Asherah. Don’t set it up beside the altar you build to worship the LORD your God.

21 Thou shalt not plant thee a grove of any trees near unto the altar of the LORD thy God, which thou shalt make thee.
