Deuteronomy 15:7

English Standard Version

7 “If among you, one of your brothers should become poor, in any of your towns within your land that the Lord your God is giving you, you shall not harden your heart or shut your hand against your poor brother, (1Jo 3:17) 

New International Version

7 If anyone is poor among your fellow Israelites in any of the towns of the land that the Lord your God is giving you, do not be hard-hearted or tight-fisted towards them. 

New International Reader’s Version

7 Suppose someone is poor among you. And suppose they live in one of the towns in the land the LORD your God is giving you. Then don’t be mean to them. They are poor. So don’t hold back money from them. 

King James Version

7 If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother:
