Deuteronomy 13:14

English Standard Version

14 then you shall inquire and make search and ask diligently. And behold, if it be true and certain that such an abomination has been done among you, (De 17:4; De 19:18) 

New International Version

14 then you must enquire, probe and investigate it thoroughly. And if it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done among you,

14 So you must ask people some questions. You must check out the matter carefully. If it’s true, an evil thing has really happened among you. It’s something the LORD hates.
