English Standard Version

8 The king answered and said, “I know with certainty that you are trying to gain time, because you see that the word from me is firm— (Eph 5:16; Col 4:5) 

New International Version

8 Then the king answered, ‘I am certain that you are trying to gain time, because you realise that this is what I have firmly decided:

8 The king answered, ‘I know what you are doing. You are trying to gain more time. You realise that I’ve made up my mind. 

King James Version

8 The king answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye see the thing is gone from me.
