Amos 9:5

English Standard Version

5 The Lord God of hosts, he who touches the earth and it melts, and all who dwell in it mourn, and all of it rises like the Nile, and sinks again, like the Nile of Egypt; (Ps 46:6; Am 8:8) 

New International Version

5 The Lord, the Lord Almighty – he touches the earth and it melts, and all who live in it mourn; the whole land rises like the Nile, then sinks like the river of Egypt; 

New International Reader’s Version

5 The LORD rules over all. The Lord touches the earth, and it melts. Everyone who lives in it mourns. The whole land rises like the River Nile. Then it settles back down again like that river in Egypt. 

King James Version

5 And the Lord GOD of hosts is he that toucheth the land, and it shall melt, and all that dwell therein shall mourn: and it shall rise up wholly like a flood; and shall be drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
