Amos 8:8

English Standard Version

8 Shall not the land tremble on this account, and everyone mourn who dwells in it, and all of it rise like the Nile, and be tossed about and sink again, like the Nile of Egypt?” (Ho 4:3; Am 9:5; Zec 10:11) 

New International Version

8 ‘Will not the land tremble for this, and all who live in it mourn? The whole land will rise like the Nile; it will be stirred up and then sink like the river of Egypt. 

New International Reader’s Version

8 ‘The land will tremble because of what will happen. Everyone who lives in it will mourn. So the whole land will rise like the River Nile. It will be stirred up. Then it will settle back down again like that river in Egypt.’ 

King James Version

8 Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
