Amos 6:8

English Standard Version

8 The Lord God has sworn by himself, declares the Lord, the God of hosts: “I abhor the pride of Jacob and hate his strongholds, and I will deliver up the city and all that is in it.” (Ps 47:4; Jer 17:3; Jer 22:5; Jer 51:14; Am 8:7) 

New International Version

8 The Sovereign Lord has sworn by himself – the Lord God Almighty declares: ‘I abhor the pride of Jacob and detest his fortresses; I will deliver up the city and everything in it.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

8 The LORD and King has made a promise in his own name. He is the LORD God who rules over all. He announces, ‘I hate the pride of Jacob’s people. I can’t stand their forts. I will hand the city of Samaria and everything in it over to their enemies.’ 

King James Version

8 The Lord GOD hath sworn by himself, saith the LORD the God of hosts, I abhor the excellency of Jacob, and hate his palaces: therefore will I deliver up the city with all that is therein.
