26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Rise and go toward the south[1] to the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.” This is a desert place. (Jud 6:12; Jud 13:3; Ac 5:19; Ac 10:3; Ac 11:13; Ac 12:7; Ac 12:23; Ac 27:23) 

New International Version

26 Now an angel of the Lord said to Philip, ‘Go south to the road – the desert road – that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

26 An angel of the Lord spoke to Philip. ‘Go south to the desert road,’ he said. ‘It’s the road that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.’ 

King James Version

26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
