29 At this retort Moses fled and became an exile in the land of Midian, where he became the father of two sons. (Ex 2:15; Ex 2:22; Ex 18:3)

New International Version

29 When Moses heard this, he fled to Midian, where he settled as a foreigner and had two sons.

New International Reader’s Version

29 When Moses heard this, he escaped to Midian. He lived there as an outsider. He became the father of two sons there.

King James Version

29 Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.
