9 ‘Because the patriarchs were jealous of Joseph, they sold him as a slave into Egypt. But God was with him 

New International Reader’s Version

9 ‘Jacob’s sons were jealous of their brother Joseph. So they sold him as a slave. He was taken to Egypt. But God was with him. 

King James Version

9 And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him,
