36 Thus Joseph, who was also called by the apostles Barnabas (which means son of encouragement), a Levite, a native of Cyprus, (Mr 3:17) 

New International Version

36 Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means ‘son of encouragement’), 

New International Reader’s Version

36 Joseph was a Levite from Cyprus. The apostles called him Barnabas. The name Barnabas means Son of Help.

36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
