29 And fearing that we might run on the rocks, they let down four anchors from the stern and prayed for day to come. (Ac 27:17; Ac 27:26)

New International Version

29 Fearing that we would be dashed against the rocks, they dropped four anchors from the stern and prayed for daylight.

New International Reader’s Version

29 They were afraid we would crash against the rocks. So they dropped four anchors from the back of the ship. They prayed that daylight would come.

King James Version

29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
