English Standard Version

28 for he powerfully refuted the Jews in public, showing by the Scriptures that the Christ was Jesus. (Ac 18:5) 

New International Version

28 For he vigorously refuted his Jewish opponents in public debate, proving from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Messiah. 

New International Reader’s Version

28 In public meetings, he argued strongly against Jews who disagreed with him. He proved from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Messiah. 

King James Version

28 For he mightily convinced the Jews, and that publickly, shewing by the scriptures that Jesus was Christ.
