Acts 13:8

English Standard Version

8 But Elymas the magician (for that is the meaning of his name) opposed them, seeking to turn the proconsul away from the faith. (Ex 7:11; Ac 13:6; Ac 13:7; Ac 13:12; 2Ti 3:8) 

New International Version

8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for that is what his name means) opposed them and tried to turn the proconsul from the faith. 

New International Reader’s Version

8 But the evil magician opposed them. He was also known as Elymas, which means Magician. He tried to keep the governor from becoming a believer. 

King James Version

8 But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith.
