28 And though they found in him no guilt worthy of death, they asked Pilate to have him executed. (Mr 14:55; Lu 23:22; Lu 23:23; Ac 2:23; Ac 3:14) 

New International Version

28 Though they found no proper ground for a death sentence, they asked Pilate to have him executed. 

New International Reader’s Version

28 The people and their rulers had no reason at all for sentencing Jesus to death. But they asked Pilate to let him be killed. 

King James Version

28 And though they found no cause of death in him, yet desired they Pilate that he should be slain.
