14 Remind them of these things, and charge them before God[1] not to quarrel about words, which does no good, but only ruins the hearers. (1Ti 5:21; 1Ti 6:4; 1Ti 6:13; 2Ti 2:23; Tit 3:9) 

New International Version

14 Keep reminding God’s people of these things. Warn them before God against quarrelling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. 

New International Reader’s Version

14 Keep reminding God’s people of these things. While God is watching, warn them not to argue about words. That doesn’t have any value. It only destroys those who listen. 

King James Version

14 Of these things put them in remembrance, charging them before the Lord that they strive not about words to no profit, but to the subverting of the hearers.
