English Standard Version

1 And David spoke to the Lord the words of this song on the day when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul. (Ex 15:1; Jud 5:1; 1Ch 16:7) 

New International Version

1 David sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul.

1 David sang the words of this song to the LORD. He sang them when the LORD saved him from the power of all his enemies and of Saul. 

King James Version
