9 Then Abishai the son of Zeruiah said to the king, “Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me go over and take off his head.” (Ex 22:28; 1Sa 24:14; 2Sa 3:8; 2Sa 9:8) 

New International Version

9 Then Abishai son of Zeruiah said to the king, ‘Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Let me go over and cut off his head.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

9 Then Abishai, the son of Zeruiah, spoke to the king. He said, ‘King David, why should we let this dead dog curse you? Let me go over there. I’ll cut off his head.’ 

King James Version

9 Then said Abishai the son of Zeruiah unto the king, Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? let me go over, I pray thee, and take off his head.
