22 And Joab fell on his face to the ground and paid homage and blessed the king. And Joab said, “Today your servant knows that I have found favor in your sight, my lord the king, in that the king has granted the request of his servant.” (1Ki 8:66) 

New International Version

22 Joab fell with his face to the ground to pay him honour, and he blessed the king. Joab said, ‘Today your servant knows that he has found favour in your eyes, my lord the king, because the king has granted his servant’s request.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

22 Joab bowed down with his face towards the ground. He did it to honour the king. And he asked God to bless the king. He said, ‘You are my king and master. Today I know that you are pleased with me. You have given me what I asked for.’ 

King James Version

22 And Joab fell to the ground on his face, and bowed himself, and thanked the king: and Joab said, To day thy servant knoweth that I have found grace in thy sight, my lord, O king, in that the king hath fulfilled the request of his servant.
