English Standard Version

1 Now Absalom, David’s son, had a beautiful sister, whose name was Tamar. And after a time Amnon, David’s son, loved her. (2Sa 3:2; 1Ch 3:2; 1Ch 3:9) 

New International Version

1 In the course of time, Amnon son of David fell in love with Tamar, the beautiful sister of Absalom son of David. 

New International Reader’s Version

1 Some time later, David’s son Amnon fell in love with Tamar. She was the beautiful sister of Absalom. He was another one of David’s sons. 

King James Version

1 And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.
