23 But now he is dead. Why should I fast? Can I bring him back again? I shall go to him, but he will not return to me.” (Job 7:8) 

New International Version

23 But now that he is dead, why should I go on fasting? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

23 But now he’s dead. So why should I continue to go without food? Can I bring him back to life again? Someday I’ll go to him. But he won’t return to me.’
