25 And there was a great famine in Samaria, as they besieged it, until a donkey’s head was sold for eighty shekels of silver, and the fourth part of a kab[1] of dove’s dung for five shekels of silver.

New International Version

25 There was a great famine in the city; the siege lasted so long that a donkey’s head sold for eighty shekels[1] of silver, and a quarter of a cab[2] of seed pods[3] for five shekels.[4]

New International Reader’s Version

25 There wasn’t enough food anywhere in the city. It was surrounded for so long that people had to weigh out a kilogram of silver for a donkey’s head. They had to weigh out 60 grams of silver for 200 grams of seed pods.

King James Version

25 And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass' head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove' dung for five pieces of silver.
