English Standard Version

8 When the messenger came and told him, “They have brought the heads of the king’s sons,” he said, “Lay them in two heaps at the entrance of the gate until the morning.” 

New International Version

8 When the messenger arrived, he told Jehu, ‘They have brought the heads of the princes.’ Then Jehu ordered, ‘Put them in two piles at the entrance of the city gate until morning.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

8 When the messenger arrived, he spoke to Jehu. He told him, ‘The heads of the princes have been brought here.’ Then Jehu ordered his men, ‘Put them in two piles. Pile them up at the entrance of the city gate until morning.’ 

King James Version

8 And there came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king' sons. And he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning.
