5 He also built Upper Beth-horon and Lower Beth-horon, fortified cities with walls, gates, and bars, (De 3:5; Jos 16:3; Jos 16:5; 2Ch 14:7) 

New International Version

5 He rebuilt Upper Beth Horon and Lower Beth Horon as fortified cities, with walls and with gates and bars, 

New International Reader’s Version

5 He rebuilt Upper Beth Horon and Lower Beth Horon. He put up high walls around them. He made their city gates secure with heavy metal bars. 

King James Version

5 Also he built Bethhoron the upper, and Bethhoron the nether, fenced cities, with walls, gates, and bars;
