English Standard Version

1 [1] Now Solomon purposed to build a temple for the name of the Lord, and a royal palace for himself. (1Ki 5:5) 

New International Version

1 [1] Solomon gave orders to build a temple for the Name of the Lord and a royal palace for himself. 

New International Reader’s Version

1 Solomon gave orders to build a temple. That’s where the LORD would put his Name. Solomon also gave orders to build a royal palace for himself. 

King James Version

1 And Solomon determined to build an house for the name of the LORD, and an house for his kingdom.
