34 And the battle continued that day, and the king of Israel was propped up in his chariot facing the Syrians until evening. Then at sunset he died. 

New International Version

34 All day long the battle raged, and the king of Israel propped himself up in his chariot facing the Arameans until evening. Then at sunset he died. 

New International Reader’s Version

34 All day long the battle continued. The king of Israel kept himself standing up by leaning against the inside of his chariot. He kept his face towards the men of Aram until evening. At sunset he died. 

King James Version

34 And the battle increased that day: howbeit the king of Israel stayed himself up in his chariot against the Syrians until the even: and about the time of the sun going down he died.
