8 I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling; (Job 17:9; Ps 24:4; Ps 63:4; Ps 119:48; Isa 1:15; Joh 4:21) 

New International Version

8 Therefore I want the men everywhere to pray, lifting up holy hands without anger or disputing. 

New International Reader’s Version

8 So I want the men in every place to pray. I want them to lift up holy hands. I don’t want them to be angry when they pray. I don’t want them to argue. 

King James Version

8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
