1 Thessalonians 2:13

English Standard Version

13 And we also thank God constantly[1] for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men[2] but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers. (Mt 10:20; Ro 10:17; Ga 4:14; 1Th 1:2; Heb 4:12) 

New International Version

13 And we also thank God continually because, when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as a human word, but as it actually is, the word of God, which is indeed at work in you who believe. 

New International Reader’s Version

13 We never stop thanking God for the way you received his word. You heard it from us. But you didn’t accept it as a human word. You accepted it for what it really is. It is God’s word. It is really at work in you who believe. 

King James Version

13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
