1 Samuel 9:27

English Standard Version

27 As they were going down to the outskirts of the city, Samuel said to Saul, “Tell the servant to pass on before us, and when he has passed on, stop here yourself for a while, that I may make known to you the word of God.” 

New International Version

27 As they were going down to the edge of the town, Samuel said to Saul, ‘Tell the servant to go on ahead of us’ – and the servant did so – ‘but you stay here for a while, so that I may give you a message from God.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

27 As they were on their way down to the edge of town, Samuel spoke to Saul. He said, ‘Tell the servant to go ahead of us.’ So the servant went on ahead. Then Samuel continued, ‘Stay here for a while. I’ll give you a message from God.’ 

King James Version

27 And as they were going down to the end of the city, Samuel said to Saul, Bid the servant pass on before us, (and he passed on,) but stand thou still a while, that I may shew thee the word of God.
