English Standard Version

3 The battle pressed hard against Saul, and the archers found him, and he was badly wounded by the archers. (2Sa 1:6) 

New International Version

3 The fighting grew fierce around Saul, and when the archers overtook him, they wounded him critically. 

New International Reader’s Version

3 The fighting was heavy around Saul. Men who were armed with bows and arrows caught up with him. They shot their arrows at him and wounded him badly. 

King James Version

3 And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him; and he was sore wounded of the archers.
