1 Samuel 30:6

6 And David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because all the people were bitter in soul,[1] each for his sons and daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God. (Ex 17:4; Nu 14:10)

New International Version

6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.

New International Reader’s Version

6 David was greatly troubled. His men were even talking about killing him by throwing stones at him. All of them were very bitter because their sons and daughters had been taken away. But David was made strong by the LORD his God.

King James Version

6 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
