English Standard Version

13 And I declare to him that I am about to punish his house forever, for the iniquity that he knew, because his sons were blaspheming God,[1] and he did not restrain them. (1Sa 2:12; 1Sa 2:17; 1Sa 2:22; 1Sa 2:23; 1Sa 3:12) 

New International Version

13 For I told him that I would judge his family for ever because of the sin he knew about; his sons uttered blasphemies against God,[1] and he failed to restrain them. 

New International Reader’s Version

13 I told Eli I would punish his family for ever. He knew his sons were sinning. He knew they were saying bad things about me. In spite of that, he did not stop them. 

King James Version

13 For I have told him that I will judge his house for ever for the iniquity which he knoweth; because his sons made themselves vile, and he restrained them not.
