1 Samuel 24:7

English Standard Version

7 So David persuaded his men with these words and did not permit them to attack Saul. And Saul rose up and left the cave and went on his way. (Ps 7:4) 

New International Version

7 With these words David sharply rebuked his men and did not allow them to attack Saul. And Saul left the cave and went his way. 

New International Reader’s Version

7 David said that to correct his men. He wanted them to know that they should never suggest harming the king. He didn’t allow them to attack Saul. So Saul left the cave and went on his way. 

King James Version

7 So David stayed his servants with these words, and suffered them not to rise against Saul. But Saul rose up out of the cave, and went on his way.
