English Standard Version

4 And the priest answered David, “I have no common bread on hand, but there is holy bread—if the young men have kept themselves from women.” (Ex 19:15; Ex 25:30; Le 24:5; Mt 12:3; Mr 2:25; Lu 6:3) 

New International Version

4 But the priest answered David, ‘I don’t have any ordinary bread to hand; however, there is some consecrated bread here – provided the men have kept themselves from women.’ 

New International Reader’s Version

4 But the priest answered David, ‘I don’t have any bread that isn’t holy. I only have some holy bread here. But it’s for men who haven’t slept with women recently.’ 

King James Version

4 And the priest answered David, and said, There is no common bread under mine hand, but there is hallowed bread; if the young men have kept themselves at least from women.
