1 Samuel 2:29

English Standard Version

29 Why then do you scorn[1] my sacrifices and my offerings that I commanded for my dwelling, and honor your sons above me by fattening yourselves on the choicest parts of every offering of my people Israel?’ (De 32:15)

New International Version

29 Why do you[1] scorn my sacrifice and offering that I prescribed for my dwelling? Why do you honour your sons more than me by fattening yourselves on the choice parts of every offering made by my people Israel?”

New International Reader’s Version

29 Why don’t you treat my sacrifices and offerings with respect? I require them to be brought to the house where I live. Why do you honour your sons more than me? Why do you fatten yourselves on the best parts of every offering that is made by my people Israel?”

King James Version

29 Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation; and honourest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people?
