42 And when the Philistine looked and saw David, he disdained him, for he was but a youth, ruddy and handsome in appearance. (1Sa 16:12) 

New International Version

42 He looked David over and saw that he was little more than a boy, glowing with health and handsome, and he despised him. 

New International Reader’s Version

42 Goliath looked David over. He saw how young he was. He also saw how healthy and handsome he was. And he hated him. 

King James Version

42 And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance.
