1 Samuel 15:9

English Standard Version

9 But Saul and the people spared Agag and the best of the sheep and of the oxen and of the fattened calves[1] and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them. All that was despised and worthless they devoted to destruction. (1Sa 15:15; 1Sa 15:21; 1Sa 28:18)

New International Version

9 But Saul and the army spared Agag and the best of the sheep and cattle, the fat calves[1] and lambs – everything that was good. These they were unwilling to destroy completely, but everything that was despised and weak they totally destroyed.

New International Reader’s Version

9 So Saul and the army spared Agag. They spared the best of the sheep and cattle. They spared the fat calves and lambs. They spared everything that was valuable. They weren’t willing to completely destroy any of those things. But they totally destroyed everything that was worthless and weak.

King James Version

9 But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.
