22 And Samuel said, “Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to listen than the fat of rams. (Ps 40:6; Ps 50:8; Pr 21:3; Ec 5:1; Isa 1:11; Isa 1:16; Jer 7:22; Ho 6:6; Mic 6:6; Mt 9:13; Mt 12:7; Mr 12:33; Heb 10:6) 

New International Version

22 But Samuel replied: ‘Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams. 

New International Reader’s Version

22 But Samuel replied, ‘What pleases the LORD more? Burnt offerings and sacrifices, or obeying the LORD? It is better to obey than to offer a sacrifice. It is better to do what he says than to offer the fat of rams. 

King James Version

22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
