48 And he did valiantly and struck the Amalekites and delivered Israel out of the hands of those who plundered them. (1Sa 15:3; 1Sa 15:7) 

New International Version

48 He fought valiantly and defeated the Amalekites, delivering Israel from the hands of those who had plundered them. 

New International Reader’s Version

48 He fought bravely. He won the battle over the Amalekites. He saved Israel from the power of those who had carried off what belonged to Israel. 

King James Version

48 And he gathered an host, and smote the Amalekites, and delivered Israel out of the hands of them that spoiled them.
